WOW!! WOW!! WOW!! MEGARARE and HARD-TO-FIND original 33 1/3 PROMOTIONAL single Stereo Arista Records very first press released, made and distributed in Chile in 1976 by Industrias Eléctricas Y Musicales Odeon, S.A. (Odeon Records Chile), licensed from Arista-Bell Records Inc., USA, catalog number DSS-13065, with hand etched matrix numbers AL-4057 SA/4 1 in Side A and AL-4057 SB/3 1 in Side B, with traditional white/blue/black Arista Records labels with solid center. Yes, Sirs, ANOTHER FIND from Chile and with 1/1 stampers!!! Amazing rarity for all lovers, fans and collectors of Santana, the single with full version of “All By Myself”!!!

“All By Myself” was the song which gave Eric Carmen worldwide fame as solo after the epic performance in Woodstock. The song, included in the first album of Eric Carmen (with a length of 7:13 minutes), was released in December 1975 as a single with a play time of only 4:22 minutes. Early next year, in 1976, “All By Myself” was released as a single here in Chile but we got a 33 1/3 RPM single because here in Chile in Side A is included the full album version of the song of 7:13 minutes!!! WOW!!! So far I know, this full version of “All By Myself” was only released here in Chile. Song titles are written in English, translated to Spanish, with full credits for Eric Carmen as songwriter and for Jinny Ienner as producer, with additional information about licenses and play time of each song. It’s interesting to notice that in both labels it’s a black mark, it’s there to hide the error they did, because they had printed “45RPM” and the record plays at 33 1/3RPM, and in both labels it’s the blue squared stamp “MUESTRA SIN VALOR COMERCIAL” (Sample Without Commercial Value). But of course, the most important fact to know about this MEGARARE SINGLE is that it includes the full uncut album version of “All By Myself”!!! WOW!!! BY THE VERY FIRST TIME auctioned in eBay, MAYBE THE RAREST PRESS of this real classic rock hit of Eric Carmen!!! Another TOP RARITY from this side of the world!!! NEVER SEEN BEFORE!!! WOW!!!

This single doesn’t have a cover. Record is in NM- or even NM condition both sides, glossy and clean, with minimal scuffs, almost impossible to see at first sight, which amazingly don’t affect play. Labels are in NM- or NM condition both sides, clean and clear, with only minimal spindle hole wear and some age browning. The sound is in strong VG+ or EX- condition both sides, loud, clear and clean, with soft background noise (surface noise is normal in records from Chile), with constant soft crackles and minimal clicks here and there, a bit more evident in the silent parts of “All By Myself”, which don’t cause major distraction from the loud and clear sound this record keeps from the beginning to the end. Overall, it’s still a record with a nice look, maybe not for the strictest Minty minds or audiophiles, even though I’m sure this record needs some deeper professional cleaning, with also almost immaculate labels and still a great sound quality after about 47 years, which shouldn’t disappoint anyone!!! And, yes Sirs, remember this is the MEGARARE PROMOTIONAL 33 1/3 SINGLE including the full uncut album version of “All By Myself” RELEASED IN CHILE ONLY and never auctioned here in eBay before!!! NEVER SEEN BEFORE!!! WHAT A FIND!!! Click on the pictures to enlarge and see the labels in detail. WOW!!!

We don’t use the generic “VG” most of South American sellers use to hide poor quality conditions or “NM” or “Mint” for records which aren’t even clean and sound less than a normal “VG” in professional standards. We use the Record Collector’s Grading System with a little modification: we don’t use MINT grade but for Sealed records and we can use a + or – to show a most professional accurate description.

MINT (M): I only use this grade for Sealed records.

NEAR MINT (NM): The record itself is in like new condition with no surface marks or deterioration in sound quality (only some very very very light hairlines caused for the record rubbing the sleeve). The cover and any extra items such as the lyric sheet, booklet or poster are in like perfect condition.

EXCELLENT (EX): The record shows some signs of having been played, but there is very little lessening in sound quality, maybe some surface marks which doesn’t affect play. The cover and packaging might have slight wear and/or creasing.

VERY GOOD (VG): The record has obviously been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch. Normal wear and tear on the cover or extra items, without any major defects, is acceptable.

GOOD (G): The record has been played so much that the sound quality has noticeably deteriorated, perhaps with some distortion and mild scratches. The cover and contents suffer from folding, scuffing of edges, spine splits, discoloration, etc.

FAIR (F): The record is still just playable but has not been cared for properly and displays considerable surface noise; it may even jump.
The cover and contents will be torn, stained and/or defaced.

POOR (P): The record will not play properly due to scratches, bad surface noise, etc. The cover and contents will be badly damaged or partly missing.

BAD (B): The record is unplayable or might even be broken, and is only of use as a collection-filler.
