Eric Clapton is one of only three artists chosen by his peers as a member of a group (Cream) and the soloist who achieved Top 50 status as an All-Time Rock n Roll Artist -- the other two were Beatles (Paul and John). This Simply Vinyl crafted another sonic beauty from Eric Clapton. This was recorded in 1970. Clapton’s solo debut includes a host of well-known singers and musicians like Rita Coolidge, Leon Russell, Sonny Curtis, Jim Gordon, Carl Radle, Bonnie & Delaney Bramlett. Clapton begins to establish his signature solo sound within this recording.

DAVE MASON'S ALONE TOGETHER LP is 180 Gram Heavy Vinyl Limited Edition pressing by MCA with the expensive Die-Fold Cover, Long Out Of Print and FYI one of the last factory sealed copies left in the world 

Music critic, Michael Fremer, editor of The Tracking Angles and contributing editor for Stereophile, said about this MCA Heavy Vinyl re-mastered from the Original Analog Tapes (with no noise suppression or bass roll-off) that “music erupts out of total silence from these thick 180 Gram Virgin Vinyl discs with a velvety smoothness, spaciousness, and ultra high resolution that stuns even the most committed CD die-hard.”

Alone Together has an absolute All-Star lineup accompanying Dave Mason of Bonnie & Delaney - Leon Russell - Jim Keltner - Carl Radle - Rita Coolidge - Jim Gordon - and from Traffic - Jim Capaldi.

With so many artists, Dave Mason’s solo debut album is probably his best. Perhaps it is because he had a backlog of songs that Traffic had never recorded, but 1970’s Alone Together is chock-full of great songs. On the other hand, it’s easy to see why Mason left Traffic even before that group’s (temporary) breakup in 1969. The soft rock sound of Alone Together is hard to place in the context of the jazz/pop experiments Traffic would explore when they re-united in 1971. 

 The eight lengthy songs take time to unfold and the peerless musicianship with Mason’s lyrical guitar and Leon Russell’s inimitable boogey soul piano in the center, threads the line between chops and soul with nary a mis-step.

Mason's debut solo album remains his best effort, due to well crafted tracks like the hit "Only You Know & I know" and "Feelin' Alright," a song that has been covered by numerous artists, including Joe Cocker, and Three Dog Night. Mason left Traffic in 1970 and went solo, enjoying sporadic success during the '70s with his style of light melodic rock/pop.

TO ESTABLISH ERIC'S SOLO CAREER AFTER CREAM HE TOURED WITH DELANEY & BONNIE AS WELL AS DAVE MASON AND RECORDED THIS LIVE LP - ON TOUR WITH ERIC CLAPTON - The third album by Delaney & Bonnie was live and was their first on the Atco/Atlantic label. Released in 1970, the album features their best-known touring band which included Eric Clapton, Jim Gordon, Carl Radle, Bobby Whitlock, Leon Russell, Dave Mason and George Harrison. Many of these players would go on to work with Eric Clapton on his solo debut WHICH IS LISTED ABOVE WITHIN THIS COLLECTION and Layla and Other Assorted Love Songs as well as with Harrison on his "All Things Must Pass" album.

"Touring With Eric Clapton" was to be Delaney & Bonnie's most successful album reaching #29 on the Billboard album chart.
