Description
LATIN JAZZ QUINTET Plus Guest ERIC DOLPHY "Caribe" LP on Prestige NJLP8251, Microgroove, RVG. Jacket VG+, tape on seam splits at bottom left spine and top right corner, very little ringwear to front and back covers, slight general wear to corners, spine is clean and legible except at bottom where seam split is taped (approx 2 inches). Vinyl is VG, multiple sleeve scuffs and superficial marks to both sides, some groovewear. Labels are clean with some spindle marks. Vinyl plays at a respectable VG+, there are no repetitive tics, clicks or pops, quite consistently silent in the quiet passages and in between tracks, percussive breaks are crisp, Dolphy's horn is vibrant. The only time a crackling became apparent upon listening to this LP was at the end of each side as the needle approached the dead wax. This record plays much better than it looks, and is most definitely an enjoyable listen with very few distractions.
