ERKIN KORAY - self-titled compilation
Turkish psych-rock god Erkin Koray got a stunning tribute with this very scarce 2-LP compilation of singles and album tracks, which spans the years
1967-1976. An unbelievably great collection of tunes, mastered for the first time from first-generation sources, on 180-gram vinyl in super-heavy glossy gatefold sleeve, this release on the Shadoks label retailed at $80 when new, and disappeared immediately. Originals of Erkin's few studio LPs fetch $500-$1200!
This is a NEAR MINT copy, played ONCE - I am the original owner - and cover is likewise perfect except for a small ding on the lower right corner from
initial international freight (see photo detail). Erkin has never had a proper release of any kind in the U.S., and most of his work remains out of print
or available only on shoddy bootlegs. This Shadoks comp represents one of the few high-quality releases ever outside of Istanbul. Track listing:
