E = EXCELLENT
E+ No signs of use on playing surfaces; as close to Mint as a 78 gets.
E Negligible signs of use on playing surfaces and/or labels, but no groove wear or scratches. A prime copy.
E– A fine shiny copy with just light signs of use — may have a few very light scuffs or very light inaudible-to-barely audible scratches, and/or very slight, isolated groove wear.
V = VERY GOOD
V+ Still shiny, but with mild groove wear throughout; may have light audible scuffs and scratches. Noise is apparent but not seriously intrusive.
V Less shine, more wear than V+. May have audible scuffs, scratches, and/or some lightly stressed grooves. Sound level is still strong, but noise is intrusive.
G = FAIRLY GOOD
Well-worn, but some shine still left. Grooves grayed throughout; may have many audible scuffs, scratches, and/or moderately stressed grooves. Still listenable, but usually with considerable noise.
F = FAIRLY POOR
Verging on unplayable; heavily worn and scratcged. Contains recognizable sound, but noise is overwhelming.
Mountaineer music doesn't get any more authentic than this! Stoneman was one of the great seminal figures in country music, and his Edisons have always been highly prized. These titles were recorded on June 21, 1926. They're getting very hard to find, especially in decent condition.
