Description
Available here is a 12" vinyl LP by Errol Dixon - Big City Blues (The Big City Blues of Errol Dixon). Issued in the UK by Decca in 1968, it’s a 1st pressing stereo record with the catalogue number SKL 4962.
Identifiers - Has the requisite first pressing marks -
Cat no. SKL 4962 on the cover, with SKL.4962 on the record label.
Matrix / Runout - Stamped - Side A - ZAL 8434-2W
Matrix / Runout - Stamped - Side B - ZAL-8435-2W
Vinyl Condition - Excellent - The record is very bright and clean - no apparent surface marks and no worrying scratches. Having listened to both sides, I can confirm that there is no jumping or sticking but expect to hear the odd light click. Background crackle/noise is present but not excessive, occasional and mainly heard during quieter moments.
Sleeve Condition - Very Good - Original front laminated, picture sleeve which has light wear around the edges and a few light stress creases. Inside right-hand corner bears a sticker of a former stockist. Instructional white die-cut, poly-lined inner sleeve is probably as issued.
With piano and vocals by Errol Dixon, the backing band is Chicken Shack, including Stan Webb on guitar. The track listing is as follows …
