Description

ERROL GARNER "Overture to Dawn, Vol. 1" 10" Blue Note LP 5007,  "P", "DG," Mono 10" Vinyl.

This is the 1952, first-pressing, 10" Deep-Groove, Flat-Rim, Frame Cover, "P"-pressing of ERROL GARNER's "Overture to Dawn, Vol. 1" on the Blue Note Records 767 Lexington Ave NYC labels of Blue Note BLP 5007. Musicians include Errol Garner.

This is a lovely early Blue Note 10-inch LP. Vinyl has consistent low level ticks and pops, on both sides; some areas louder, some quieter. Second side much quieter than first side.  Record plays beautifully, however. Both sides have good gloss, no feelable marks/scratches. Both deep groove labels clean. As with all Lexington Ave to New York USA Blue Note pressings, imperfections, do not detract from this powerfully recorded and pressed vinyl. The (very)Deep-Grooved Records 767 Lexington Ave NYC labels are clean with minor spindle wear.

Frame COVER is beautiful, no spine or seam splits.  "BLUE NOTE RECORDS, 767 Lexington Ave., New York 21 N.Y" back jacket shows wear and general discoloration. See photos. See photos.

This LP was play-tested on a high-end system consisting of Music Hall MMF-7.3 turntable/Ortofon Bronze cartridge, Heed Audio Elixir integrated amplifier, Heed Quasar Phono stage and Quad S2 speakers (with very revealing ribbon tweeters). Record cleaned on VPI 16.5.
