2015 OHM (US) RE-ISSUE OF 1975 LP

 

Errol ‘Flabba’ Holt‘s extraordinary debut album ‘ Rastafari Time’ was originally issued on the Jamaican ‘Sky High’ label in 1975, . The very rare first press didn't come with a sleeve so this reissue Errol Holt & OHM records have specially designed a new sleeve with insert of sleevenotes & studio photos with Scientist and members of The Roots Radics Born Errol Alexander Carter, the bass player got his start in the business playing sessions for the likes of Bunny “Striker” Lee and Lee “Scratch” Perry in the late 1960s and early 1970s. However, he had a tremendous singing voice that drew comparisons to that of Paragons crooner John Holt. Flabba’s voice was so eerily similar to Holt’s that people began referring to him as Errol Holt. His vocal talent was undeniable, and in 1975, he had a sound system hit on his hands with “A You Lick Me First”!!
