Description
Erwin Brodky, born March 7, 1896 in Ragnit, East Prussia - December 6, 1958 in Lucerne, Switzerland, harpsichordist, pianist, arranger, studied with Richard Strauss, Ernst von Dohnanji, Ferrucio Busoni. Professor at the Scharwenka Conservatory Berlin, settlet 1933 to Amsterdam, then imigrated 1938 to the USA, teached at the Longy School of Music in Cambridge, Massachusetts (1938-1948) and then at Brandeis University. Bodky made some of the first authentic instrument recordings of early music using original harpsichords.
