The I Musici Ensemble's bright, lustrous tone, lively rhythms and clarity, superb legato technique, and homogeneity of players are ideal for reproducing Vivaldi's masterpiece, and it is no exaggeration to say that this is the starting point for the image of this piece in the latter half of the 20th century.
Lee Musici has recorded “The Four Seasons” for more than half a century, and this first stereo recording from 1959 was the starting point. The violin solo was played by concertmaster Felix Ayo, one of the founding members of Lee Musici, who remained with the orchestra for 17 years until 1968 and established the first golden age of the orchestra. This album, which shows the charm of the violin as a singing instrument to the utmost limit, has been reissued in analog format for the first time in Japan in 33 years.
