Italian singer-songwriter, percussionist and drummer Tony 'Antonion' Esposito was mega prolific. He put out 20 odd albums of his own while appearing, often as an arranger and composer, on more than 750 other musical works. Gente Distratta was his 1997 album on Number Uno, the third and last with the label but a triumph of prog guitar, space jazz and afro-rock brilliance. The tracks are densely arranged affair with millions of things going on - gorgeous chords and melodies, smooth funk bass, tight stick work and rhythmic innovation that is hard to keep up with. Trying to do so is brilliant fun, though.
