EUGENE B. FERRIS, The Singing Hotelier. 1966, original  7" in original laminated picture cover plus original "Planet" label company cover.

A really obscure and bizarre release on the very collectable "Planet" label.

Tracks: A. There Was A Smile in Your Eyes. b/w In The Soft Moonlight. 

Although on picture cover, A.side is listed as B.side and B.side is listed as A.side. (confused?) See Scans below...

A.side words and music by Eugene Richmond.B.side words and music by Bill Peterson.

Accompaniment on boths sides by David Whitaker & His Orchestra together with the Diamond Six Singers.

This record was a promotional record from the Lockerbie House Hotel. The music is easy listening, but I have listed under 60's pop as for the interest in the label.

This record comes complete with original picture cover which I have researched and can not find any information on. I think this is the only "Planet" label release with a picture cover?? Plus this record comes with the original Planet company cover inside.,also there is a sticker attached to the rear of picture cover with message from Eugene B. Ferris

For collectors of the Planet label and obscure 60's releases.

I've not seen this offer on ebay with the Rare picture cover, so grab it while you can.

CONDITION: (covers graded first)            VG++/EX

Picture Cover:    has light ring and edge wear, but still nice and clean. There message sticker on rear has been lifted and left apart of the sticker attached to picture cover, but has not damage rear of picture cover.

Planet company cover: is EX, just slight creasing from being inside picture cover, still lovely and crisp and clean!

Record: Looks unplayed, but I have played once or twice so I have graded as Mint-! A lovely clean copy with only a few very light surface marks from movement in sleeve.

Labels:  A.side Mint!   B.side Mint- a couple of very faint spindlemarks.

A Great keeper copy of this obscure 60's release!

Graded to Record Collector's system.  

All items are strictly graded under harsh electric light. I grade conservatively and hope that you always receive an item in better condition than you expected.

I list a lot of items as EX, but most will be nearer to Mint- , and any item listed as VG, will still be that,  a VERY GOOD playable keeper copy! Any item graded VG or below (ie Good/Fair) will be play checked and described to a high standard!
