Description
Hiding behind two different pseudonyms--Page Jazz-Sinf. Orch. and Bibo Orchester--Billy Bartholomew's Orchestra plays two good tunes, "Tell Me More About Love" and "Huggable Kissable You," on flexible Phonycord 223. There's a fine trumpet solo on the first side, and the leader takes an equally good alto sax solo on the second side. He also sings the English-language vocals on both sides. Well recorded in Berlin (in what sounds like a large theater) in October 1929. On YouTube (not this copy).
This record is in E- condition. There is very little groove wear. As is common with these flexible discs, it isn't flat and will need extra weight to track properly. The "Huggable" side is pressed slightly off center.
I'm a longtime collector who is downsizing. I know how to pack records.
