Description

Sam Baskini och hans Jazz-Symfoniker play "Flower of Love" and "Kiddie Kapers" on Star 0172.  "Flower" is a jazzy arrangement with really good alto sax (Billy Barton?) and trumpet solos.  There are solos, but not hot solos, on the "Kapers" side.
Recorded in Berlin in 1929, but unissued in Germany.  This issue is for the Swedish market.
Visually, this record is in E- condition except for a half-inch hairline crack that is taped at the rim (see last picture) and a one-inch scratch that ticks lightly three or four times at the beginning.  After a noisy VV+ start and some distortion in the loudest passages, the sound on "Flower" gradually improves to V+.  There are needle runs on both labels.
