Description
Van Phillips and his Band play "Sometimes" and "By A Fireside" on Columbia 5209. It's his first record as a leader. "Sometimes" is a beautiful arrangement of a beautiful waltz by Fred Elizalde on which Al Bowlly sings. Even if you're not normally a fan of waltzes, give this one a chance. On YouTube at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hPr4tKtm2A0 (not this copy). "Fireside" is a pretty foxtrot.
This record is in VV+ condition generally, except for (1) an edge bite that goes into the grooves without reaching the music and (2) an underlabel crack on "Fireside." The record can be cued up without a problem. There is some rustling at the very beginning of the music on each side.
I'm a longtime collector who is downsizing. I know how to pack records.
