The item available here is an excellent condition vinyl and original and very rare FOLDOUT PICTURE SLEEVE EDITION 7" VINYL SINGLE of the 1974 Eurovision song from CARITA HOLSTROM and the entry from Finland "ALA MENE POIS in it's original Finnish language.  The B-Side features another track by Carita "AIKAPEILI", a track that had also been submitted to the Eurovision preselection that year but didn't reach the semi-finals.  This original Finnish language version does turn up occasionally on 7", but it's very rare to find one with the FOLDOUT PICTURE SLEEVE which was only issued with the first few copies in Finland on EMI records (5E006-34987) and to my knowledge the Finnish version wasn't pressed outside of Finland on 7" vinyl.  This is a great opportunity to add an original language Eurovision 7" to your vinyl record collection, stored carefully for more than 30 years.  At first glance the vinyl appears to be near mint, but then looking under closer inspection a few very light surface scratches can be seen but the item still looks really great in my opinion and I wouldn't expect any lessening of sound quality.  The foldout picture sleeve is EX with just a little minor creasing here and there and is still with it's original polythene protection sleeve.  This is an original 1974 picture sleeve and NOT a repress.  All exact items on auction can be seen on the camera photos above and below.

Back in the eighties and nineties I was quite well known among many Eurovision collectors around the world as I always stocked a large selection of Eurovision records and CD's and during the nineties even arranged and financed the official release to press some of the more rare entries for wider availability to collectors.  I provided a Discography and photos of all Eurovision releases in the UK for RECORD COLLECTOR magazine and provided recordings and worked to get clearance for tracks on an official UK Eurovision CD release issued by VIRGIN.  Due to moving house my Eurovision vinyl has been in safe storage for almost a decade.  I have recently acquired back the very last copies of my Eurovision vinyl stocks.  In many cases I am down to my very last copy of each entry, especially those in mint condition and I now plan to sell everything over the upcoming months, so keep checking back each week for new additions to my listings.
