For sale are vinyl copies of Evening By The Nile With Jodette by Jodette Silhi (Private Press, VC 4222).


This very rare and sought after 1975 guide to Belly Dancing features instructions but also some amazing Middle Eastern music!


Jodette Silhi is shown in the imagery of the jacket cover and narrates in parts of the second side of the album! The first side as well as the musical portions of side B features instruction on Tabla playing by Ahmed Batrawi. Narration on the history of belly dancing, side 2, by Mohmoud Salem.

This album is chock full of amazing samples including various guitars playing very interesting chord progressions and even more amazing instrumentation of which I can't easily detail here!



 


Vinyl is EX with very very light wear, a bit of inner sleeve marks but not much. Side 1 plays with a hushed hiss on the first and last tracks, nothing distracting, it's just that those songs are quiet. Side 2 plays amazing as well, almost no surface noise!!
Jacket is EX- with very light storage wear, some corner and edge wear, a tiny split less than 1" along top edge and pre-signs of splitting in a few spots but no other cracks have actually formed, also a few minor spots of ring wear on front. Cut corner and a small bit of pen writing near track list.
