This is one of the weirdest albums I have ever heard. It's probably also one of the best Zappa-produced albums there is. Released way back in 1968, An Evening With Wild Man Fischer startled and surprised everyone who heard it. The albums consisted of (mostly) acapella, if that's what you wanna call it, songs sung by Larry Fischer, who was commited to a mental institution twice by his mother when he was very young. You can tell by listening to this that he is not exactly 'all there.' The album also features recordings of Larry on the Sunset Strip 'selling his songs', busking in other words, and some of the tracks feature Art Tripp on percussion and other tracks feature Zappa playing behind him ("Circle" and "The Taster"). There is also a guest appearance by Kim Fowley, Rodney Bingenheimer and The GTOs. This album has never been on CD, sadly and I don't think it ever will. Gail Zappa owns the rights to it and will not release it as the Zappa family fell out with Larry in 1970. It turns up now and then on vinyl, but is fetching around £50 in mint condition these days. It sold next to nothing at the time, but Larry had a cult following after its release and was quite well known along the Strip before this album hit the shops. If you can find it, get it!

Insanely (and quite literally so) rare Frank Zappa-produced album (Zappa also played on the album): Frank Zappa produced and "arranged" this 1969 album by Larry Fischer, a local west-coast eccentric who was institutionalized by his own mother. Two records worth of musical decomposition, musings, songs and unaccompanied singing/playing recorded on an LA street sidewalk. The album quickly fell through the cracks, sold a meager few thousand copies and disappeared without a trace, never to be seen or heard from again. Needless to say, it remains unavailable on CD or in any other way, manner or form. (a)          WE GRADE THE VINYL AS STRONG NEAR MINT (POSSIBLY UNPLAYED). The original luster is very much intact, and the vinyl shines and sparkles almost like new.

(b)            The records come in poly-lined inner sleeves, which have - apparently with success - shielded the vinyl from the harmful impact of elements over many years!

(c)             The records are pressed on a RELATIVELY  thick, inflexible vinyl. This is NOT a thin, flimsy ('dynaflex' type),  vinyl, but not the thickest, most rigid vinyl, either.

(d)          Of course, this is a full-bodied ANALOG recording, and not an inferior, digital recording!!!

THE COVER IS NICE --- ABOUT EXCELLENT OR VERY GOOD+++.

The following flaws or imperfections are noted on the cover:

-        Cover has a cutout saw-mark (an indent about 1-2 cm long ) on one of its seams.

-         Minor shelf wear noted on the bottom seam (nothing significant)

-         Cover has two corners slightly dinged (nothing significant)
