During the 50's and early 60's, the UK London label released demo copies of their catalogue as single sided discs and it's increasingly hard to find an original pairing of both the 'A' and 'B' side together. Eventually released as catalogue # HLA 8440, we have on offer the following 1957 pairing from THE EVERLY BROTHERS;
DISC 1: "BYE, BYE LOVE" with Matrix # 45-MSK 1756-2C that remains in excellent plus condition and plays perfectly throughout with the lightest of crackle on the lead-in and run-off groove and and with light sleeve rubs and scuffs plus minimal light surface scratches that don't affect play. This copy has the solid centre and the label is extremely clean with minimal ring wear and with factory written annotations in the form of the running time and matrix number suffix (see picture scan 1).
DISC 2: "I WONDER IF I CARE SO MUCH" with Matrix # 45-MSK 1757-2C that remains in very good plus condition and plays perfectly throughout (closer to excellent) with audible light crackle on the lead-in and run-off groove and quieter sections and with light sleeve rubs and surface scuffs that don't affect play. This copy has the solid centre and the label is reasonably clean with light ring wear and with factory written annotations in the form of the running time and matrix number suffix plus, a name with corresponding initials. The catalogue number has been applied by way of a company rubber stamp (see picture scan 2).
Paired with an original company sleeve.
