Description

EWING ST. TIMES BAND:   Trax are:  SIDE A:  DEEP IN THE WEST, MAKING MUSIC  -   SIDE B:  BETWEEN YOU AND ME, HARD TO FIND A SMILE, YOU DON'T HAVE TO, LENNY, and WEST TEXAS HIGHWAY.  SHAKE RUSSELL lived in Miami's Coconut Grove in the early 70's;  he moved to Austin, Texas, and formed The EWING ST. TIMES BAND with JOHN VANDIVER and MICHAEL MASHKES.  They played at the ARMADILLO WORLD HEADQUARTERS, and other clubs around Austin for several years.  At some point in the early 70's they made a trip to Miami's CRITERIA STUDIO to record this one-shot Demo Acetate.  I found it at a Thrift Shop in South Florida.  From what I can tell, this is a completely unreleased session.  I think some of the SHAKE RUSSELL songs were released in different formats later in the 70's, but I haven't been able to find out much about his.  This group, and this record, was heavily influenced by CROSBY, STILLS, and NASH.  You can tell this from the Music.  YOU DON'T HAVE TO is a blistering Dual Lead Guitar Psych piece, which really makes the album an unknown classic.  This could use a good cleaning, and with some de-clicking, you can rescue a really good album.  Don't wait around for a better copy to turn up;  this is the only one that you will ever see.  The Label is clean and new on both sides.  The record itself doesn't show much use;  the side with 5 songs has some light scuffs and looks VG/VG+.  Those 5 songs play a solid VG+ and Better.  The side with 2 songs looks VG+ and Better.  But it got a lot of play and has noise;  those two songs are the last 2 on the Audio Clip selection.  That side plays VG- (I guess--that is hard to define, so you just have to listen to the clips).  I've posted Audio Clips from both sides of this record at:   www.gate.net/~rhanes/ewingsttimesace.wma  - If you click onto this hyperlink, you can download them as WINDOWS MEDIA AUDIO FILES and listen for yourself.  I can ship this anywhere in the USA Media Rate for $4.00 or AIR PRIORITY for $10.75.  If bidding reaches $50, and it sells to a non-US Buyer, it will have to ship via Registered Mail (but I'll pay 4.00 of the 11.50 Registered Mail Fee.)  If it sells to a non-US Buyer for $120-$500, it will have to ship Air Priority ($28.00), and I'll have to pay for Insurance for the full amount sold. If it sells to a non-US Buyer for over $500, it will have to ship Express Mail ($36.00) and I'll pay for Insurance. The POST OFFICE LOSES PACKAGES, don't blame me if it happens to you. Since I will have to insure it, I will have to declare full sales value; if paying other than PAYPAL, I can ship it any way you want. PAYPAL rules make it very difficult and expensive to ship anything out of the country now, since they require on-line Tracking Numbers. You can't get that with simple First Class International shipping. The US Post Office has made it very difficult to Insure packages leaving the country. I can take PAYPAL (and others). Again, if you can pay mei and not use PAYPAL, I'll be happy to ship it any way you want it.  If you have less than 30 Feedbacks, don't bid on this.  No reserve on this. Good luck!
