Here is a SUPER RARE R&B album from my collection offered up for sale: A vintage original 1959 album "Hits That Jumped", on Checker records in well cared for condition! The Checker label was started in 1952 by the Chess brothers, creators of Chess Records. This is Checker's 10th album, released in 1959 LP 2975 (mono). Other Checker Lp releases at that time were the legendary Little Walter and Bo Diddley.
This is collection of then (1950's) recent hits, an original pressing from 1959, with the rigid vinyl and black and silver labels. This is an album of great R&B / doo wop songs, artists included Jimmy McCracklin, Johnny Fuller, the Tune Weavers, Bobby Lester and the Moonlighters, The Lewis Sisters,, Danny Overbea ,Harvey, The Students, and Earl Washington!
This vintage rigid record is stunning! grades EX, is super glossy and super clean, has only a few very light marks to an otherwise pristine disc, has been well cared for! PLAY TESTED, plays great from start to finish with excellent sound quality, clear sound, minimal surface noise, a very enjoyable listen! The vintage cover rates EX, front is clean and bright and has great colors, edges and corners show minimal wear but bottom seam had center split neatly repaired with glue, corner has small punch hole, no stains, no signatures or writing, no ring wear, great old cover!
