Here we have the very first official release by the BEATLES under their EMI label. This was FIRST recorded recording with Ringo on drums, on the 4th of September 1962. It was a week later, when attempting another recording, Ringo was left to give the maracas a shake on "PS I Love You" and tambourine on "Love Me Do." The recordings with Ringo are therefore identified by the -1N/-1N matrix, whilst the Andy White recording has the suffix of -2N/-2N. It is strange, however, EMI decided to release the Ringo version before the re-worked (and so called improved..?) Andy White version....couldn't have been much of an improvement after all.

Release date was the 5th of October 1962.

WONDERFULLY early pressing!

Very Early Tax codes stamped into the run-off at 9 o'clock:

This tax code was ONLY used between April the 10th, 1962 through to Jan the 1st, 1963. A VERY SHORT RUN! It is a transitional tax code, merging from the previous ZT into the later PT tax code.

(I have tried to take picture of these but my camera isn’t that great at capturing these).

The Labels:

They are the lovely deep red colour. "Ardmore & Beechwood LTD" is on both sides.

It DOES have the "Made In GT. Britain" statement at 3 O'Clock to either side….Showing this to be an incredibly early pressing.

When taking the close photos, I noticed a very faint ‘cl’ to side 1..See if you can spot it in the detailed images provided-it really is insignificant.

I have cleaned her with the Pro-Ject VCS MkII Vacuum Record Cleaner, as well as given her a gentle ultrasonic bath.

Just finished playing both sides through and NO skips, jumps etc. There's barely even ANY light background noise...I am being VERY critical here..Listen to the recording for the utter clarity of audio reproduction.

She shines out lovely and brightly now.

There are light marks but as I have said..

CERTAINLY NO SKIPS/STICKS OR JUMPS

They don't make them like this any more!

Lovely quiet run-ins and deep bass-as you can hear in the recording provided.

NO WARPING OR DISTORTION OF ANY SORT...LOVELY AND FLAT.

Original 1960's "Wavy Lines" sleeve in superb condition. Only slightly faded through age-aren't we all?! ;).

A SUPERB example of this early sleeve.

It is still with the original disc, after all these years as it has the title written to one side
