- Here is an fantastically preserved original Beatles record album from my collection offered up for sale: the THE BEATLES classic masterpiece "Sgt. Peppers Lonely Hearts club Band" released June 2nd 1967 on Capitol records MAS-2653. This is an original AUTHENTIC first MONO pressing with the black labels with color bands. A different mix than the common stereo pressing. (Reportedly John Lennon was quoted as saying "the only way to listen to Pepper is in mono".) The MONO pressing was finally repressed and even the NEW copies go for bundles of cash. This is the real deal! The ORIGINAL 1967 1st mono pressing!
The vinyl is stunning and rates EX, is super glossy and clean, outstanding vinyl, a few faint marks on each side, nothing heavy! has been play tested. Plays with bright deep sound, minimal surface noise , no skips or jumps, a very enjoyable listen! The labels show VERY little wear, Awesome 55 year old Beatles collectable! The cover rates VG+ to EX, fantastic color! NO ring wear on front OR back cover! Binder edge EX and readable, corners EX, NO splits!, NO writing or signatures. Inside gatefold clean and bright, there is a split to the inner slick between Paul & John (see last photo) Teeny mark in upper right rear corner(from price tag?) (see photo) The original psychedelic red inner sleeve is very good, inner sleeve split at bottom center,(I will provide a second Capitol inner sleeve as well) , , the original Sgt. Pepper cut out insert is made of thick cardboard type paper stock in great shape and EX,(see pics) clean. (see all photos) An absolutely STUNNING original MONO pressing!
