With The Beatles
Rare DECCA Pressing
Have a listen to a selected track from this rare album:
This was the Beatles' second official release, following their hugely popular Please Please Me. This record was released on the 30th November 1963 and went to the number 1 position (knocking of their own Please Please Me lp) on the 7th of December. Staying at number 1 for 21 weeks! As a little note: they had already sold 250,000 copies before the release and so accepted a silver disc BEFORE release!
With such volume of sales, Parlophone couldn't keep up with demand, so instead got Decca to press a small amount.
Once again, Parlophone just couldn't keep up with demand, so contract pressings were sought from DECCA. Only for a short time, was this done, so these DECCA pressing copies of Beatles records are becoming increasingly rare.

Of particular interest is the "KT" tax code STAMPED into the run-off groove at 9 O'clock....You will NOT find a Beatles Parlophone pressed record with this feature!
The vinyl is recognised as a Decca pressing with the inner groove on the label and the absence of a letter stamped into the run-off groove at 3 O'clock.
Vinyl:
QUALITY 139g
VG++. I have just played her all the way through and found a wonderful deep and rih sound reproduction-certainly -NO SKIPS OR JUMPS! Yes, there is a little background noise, but nothing to worry about, at all-mainly static. A gentle clean and I am sure it'll upgrade.
Lovely and RAW...got me jiggin'!
Labels: EX-. WOW...The increasingly RARE DECCA pressing inner groove, gorgeously prominant...ON BOTH SIDES
"The Parlophone..." rim text
Also "Recording First Published" text
**PLEASE SEE THE DETAILED IMAGES PROVIDED AND CLICK ON THEM FOR EVEN LARGER IMAGES AND MORE DETAIL**
And read my feedback for happy customers :)
Cover: EX!. Gorgeously glossy cover. NO WRITING!
HARDLY ANY SPIDERING!
"Really Got a Hold On Me" track 3 credit on the back.
Just slight discolouration to the back card...other than that:
SOLID corners
SOLID spine
SOLID Garrod & Lofthouse flipbacks
VERY VERY nice example.
The Inner: EX+! ORIGINAL "Use Emitex" Inner in tip-top condition too!
NO writing/rips/tears or splits...FANTASTIC.
Only light creasing-which you would expect for 50 years!
This copy really is superb and getting increasingly rarer by the year.
TOP copy-COMPLETE copy-DECCA copy.
Magic!
