Here is a vintage HARD TO FIND original record offered up for sale: An original 1965 1st pressing of "THEM" featuring Van Morrison! This a vintage 1965 MONO 1st pressing has the heavy vinyl and parrot logo and black labels, well cared for 50 year old album. Released on Parrot records PA-61005 (mono). The story is when this their debut album was released "Here comes the night" was expected to be a hit record for "Them" and was released as a single in 1965. The first cover was hence printed with a cover with "Featuring "Here comes the night". As it turned out, Radio DJ's were playing the B side "Gloria" day & night! "Gloria" shot up the charts and the presses were halted! The covers were then changed to scream "Gloria" in large letters instead of the "Here comes the night" blurb! Here is an original pressing with the "Here comes the night" front cover.
This heavy weight record rates EX, is clean and glossy, has a few light marks, nothing heavy, has been very well cared for! PLAY TESTED, plays from start to finish with very good sound, a couple light pops, minimal surface noise, no skips, no jumps! The vinyl has the acclaimed mastering stamp "circle MR" & Bell Sound in the deadwax, cool! The cover rates VG+, is clean and bright, edges have minimal wear and are sold, no splits, no tape, binder edge is EX and readable, bottom corners have a bit of wear, back has signature, minimal ringwear, has been very well cared for!
