Very Rare Original Excello Label 78
SONS OF THE SOUTH
"IN MY SAVIOUR’S CARE" backed with "DIDN’T IT RAIN CHILDREN"

We just bought an amazing group of original EXCELLO LABEL 78’s from a collector in Nashville. This one is by SONS OF THE SOUTH and is an original pressing on the orange and blue Excello label with “Nashboro Record Co., 177 - 3rd Avenue N., Nashville, Tennessee” printed around the bottom of the labels.
This is a great Black Gospel/Spiritual two-sider. We have made no attempt to clean this record, and are describing the condition visibly. You can hear sound clips recorded from this record below. This 78 has no cracks or chips and the labels are in very nice shape. Compared to other 78s we have seen, this one looks better than most. Although it has some fingerprints, the surface retains more than an average amount of its original luster. This record shows a small amount of surface marking and light scuffs. The only “scratch” I can feel on the grooves is a very small one, which goes from about the last 10 grooves on Side A into a little bit of the dead wax. This record does not appear to have had a whole lot of play. If you know how to properly and carefully clean a 78, I think this one would clean up beautifully. There are no skips or repeats on either side. Graded visibly, I’d say this one would rate about a conservative 7.5 on a 10 scale, not accounting for the fingerprints, with 10 being near perfect and 1 being the worst.

The sound clips were recorded from the actual 78 being offered, with no filtering or enhancing of any kind.
This 78 will be placed inside a plastic sleeve and then between pieces of cardboard. These will be placed inside an oversize box with lots of filler (air bubbles and/or packing peanuts) for protection during shipping.
