GOLDEN EARRING - Seven Tears - 1971
In 1971 the Dutch progressive rock band 'Golden Earring' recorded the album "Seven Tears" in Hilversum. They started to experiment, ended up on a psychedelic trip and used the now legendary ARP synthesizer for the first time. The album's highlight is 'She Flies on Strange Wings' an art rock epic that combines verses done in a stomping, heavy metal style with spacy choruses and a slow, dreamy midsection that is strongly reminiscent of Pink Floyd.
Reluctantly I am selling some of my treasured possessions; many are rare, collectable and highly desirable, the following are some examples of items that will be auctioned in the near future - Led Zeppelin (Turquoise), Warhorse, Savoy Brown, Bakerloo, Martha Valez, Dennis Wilson, Jeff Beck, Love Sculpture, Black Sabbath (1st), Jethro Tull, Quisksilver Messenger Service, REO Speedwagon (1st), Paladin, TYA, Wishbone Ash , John Mayall, etc.
This album is now being re-released, a clear indication of its value in the annals of prog rock and the collectability of these original vinyls.
This German Polydor release (2310 135) is in excellent condition. The black sheen vinyl appears to be devoid of scratches, however, there is some minor crackling on the opening tracks of both sides, albeit it does little to detract from this period timepiece.
The cover is in excellent condition for a 39 year old, with a bare minimum of creasing.
The record labels are in excellent condition with no writing and spindle marks are absolutely minimal.
