Description
Seriously and genuinly rare, original UK first release, 8 track tape of The Rolling Stones double album "Exile On Main Street" - Catalogue Number Y8 COC 69100 from 1972. This rarely comes up for sale in complete condition with the inner slipcase and outer slipcase with the lolling, Jagger tongue. At the time, it was issued, The Stones were setting up their own label, Rolling Stones Records, upon leaving Decca, but had not engaged Atlantic, (their new distributors from 1973/4). This 8 track, and the equally rare musicassette version were manufactured and distributed by Precision Tapes of Cumberland Place in London, before Atlantic took over, and this is printed on the slipcase. A limited number ( ie few) of them exist.
The cartridge, inner slipcase are in excellent condition, and the outer "Jagger tongue" Rolling Stones Records logo, has had a removed sellotape mark on the front, but is intact, untorn and working - moving as the case is withdrawn. It is there! Has a new tape head pad and metal track changing sensor fitted to ensure renewed longevity. As nice a condition as you are likely to find. It is 41 years old. It plays perfectly on my Jensen Interceptor original, refurbished four speaker Radiomobile 8 track stereo/radio unit and as the car is for sale shortly, this gem comes up for sale.
