About This Record.  This is another cool LP from my Vinyl Vault! This is the second non-sanctioned pressing of David Bowie's LP entitled the Man Who Sold the World in super nice condition. This has NO Matrix Numbers stamped in the trail out grooves, meaning THIS IS NOT an original pressing which had the hand-etched matrix, and the slightly different cover with less purple around "David Bowie" and a slightly off-center back cover.

Most of these LPs were this unofficial release.  Only about 1000 of the original pressings were released to the unsuspecting USA public with stamped matrix numbers in the trail off.  I do have an original USA stamped matrix promo copy for sale as noted above, and it is a super rare promo.  Please see my detailed photos of the cover and LP and labels, as well as the details below and

I offer full refund including shipping both ways (for USA and foreign buyers in case for some wildly strange reason you might be unhappy with this purchase.  Comes hand-cleaned on my VPI 16.5 Record Cleaning machine (hate those automated 17's) and placed in a new dust-free sleeve for your grandchildren.  And at least one plastic sleeves for moisture protection (for you and me).

Cover Condition: Super STRONG Excellent Minus (EX-) cover with small crease top right, and small very very light price sticker mark in top right front cover corner, and light shelf wear and small drill hole in bottom right.  A Nicer copy you might seek, but will likely never find.  I have kept this in a plastic sleeve for almost 30 years.  Few people have taken care of that.  But this is not the first pressing that most people think is; it has hand etched matrix numbers, like most copies that turn up for sale have.

Vinyl Condition: Near Mint (NM) top keeper copy.   Impossible to upgrade.  I bought this at OarFolkJokepus Records (now TreeHouseRecords) at 26th and Lyndale in Minneapolis, way back when.  Now is your chance.

Labels. Near Mint (NM) reissue red Mercury labels with NO hand-etched matrix numbers.  Please see photos of all labels.

Inserts: Comes with original plain white (now brown) paper inner sleeve in nice condition, but no worries, the vinyl also comes cleaned on my KL Audio Ultrasonic record cleaning machine and in a new rice paper equivalent sleeve so the old Dust does not reattach!  Oh My Gosh!

Packaging.  I clean all vinyl as noted above, and place it in a new innersleeve so the old dust does not reattach; but I also include the innersleeve that came with the LP if it is the original.  I separate the vinyl in its new sleeve after cleaning from the cover, and place the cover and the separately packed vinyl in at least one if not two plastic innersleeves that help protect against moisture damage during this cool records transition to your record collection.  I use sturdy carboard containers with real corners and pack with at least two insert stiffeners, and I place neon stickers on the front and back of the package indicating “Do Not Bend” and/or “Fragile” or something like that to help facilitate a safe passage.
