Very Rare Near-Mint promotional vinyl 12 inch single.
This is ALSO a "designated promo", the label has the
standard disclaimer printed on the bottom as well as the rubber stamp on both sides.
There's no damage or writing or stickers on the label!
This is the fabulous original pressing of a timeless classic.
Francois Kevorkian smartly licensed and re-issued this on W A V E records.
Unfortunately for serious vinyl junkies and audiophile freaks like us,
W a v e and many other labels' pressings are usually mastered using a
VERY over-rated stamper manufacturing technology called
DMM, or Direct Metal Mastering.
DMM cuts right into copper to create the stamper, which is great for very long sides,
but TERRIBLE if you want nice LOUD pressings with
deep grooves that are resistant to paper scuffs, dust, fingerprints etc.
THIS magnificent original pressing is cut using traditional
Lacquer mastering, with NICE DEEP GROOVES.
DMM manufactured records are terrible because they have
very shallow grooves, so that the stylus pathway against the groove walls is
right at the top of the vinyl surface and it gets noisey real fast,
as anyone who has ever DJ-ed with those common pressings will tell you.
The pathway is too close to "the outside world", or the "land" between the grooves.
All the old S t r i c t l y R h y t h m and N e r v o u s pressings are this way
and they really suck for DJ-ing, or from an audiophile point of view.
This gorgeous, shiny NEAR MINT original pressing was
Cut and mastered by the legendary
Herbie Powers Junior at FRANKFORD WAYNE Mastering.
Most of the old-school jocks like Larry Levan and
David Mancuso played this track, and so do the other old school DJs like
Timmy Regisford and Ken Carpenter and the old-school CHICAGO DJ's like
Frankie Knuckles and the rest of the crew.

Comes in a plain modern white die cut jacket.
