PLEASE READ BEFORE BIDDING: Please read the entire auction listing, including shipping costs, before writing to ask a question. OUR GOAL IS CUSTOMER SATISFACTION. In the unlikely instance that you feel the need to open a resolution dispute before working with us, you will immediately be blocked from any further chance to acquire the rare music we present each and every week. Payment is required within seven days. We mail all paid items ONE WEEK after auctions end. Please keep in mind our listings are time consuming in detail and we are often traveling to find these gems, which at times delays the delivery schedule by a day or two. We ALWAYS process and ship every paid order. We have no control over parcels once they are mailed from our local Post Office.Overseas mail to some countries (Italy, Russia, France, in particular) has become very slow. Opening a dispute for slow mail is unacceptable and will result in blocking the bidder. We work hard to provide excellent service as is represented by our 8000 plus positive feedback. We use a VPI machine and thoroughly clean all records. Each order is carefully packaged by removing the LP from the jacket to avoid seam splits, use of 3 ml plastic cover sleeves over each LP and jacket, cardboard pad inserts, and placed in sturdy record mailers for safe delivery. We take Customer Service seriously, and want you to be satisfied. LONG LONG GONE & RARE 2nd press from 15-20 years ago ... in perfect condition and plays dynamic ... here's the Ellison story:
TOP RATED HEAVY PSYCH 1971 doom from this wicked north of the border crew. Sounding like a much more psychedelic yet somehow subdued Sabbath, these guys reach for the milky way with their heroin/LSD-25 speedball approach. Totally wasted 'Head' rock, with brutal guitar runs, and starter-fluid-huffing vocals all add up to one hell of a brain cell killer. Dark and gloomy, like coming down off acid on a rainy fall morning. "Winter Slutch" and "Strawberry Rain" are two of the best cuts, but the record peaks with "Untruth Story", a mindmelting knife-in-back-pocket-right-next-to-the-brush burnout heroin anthem. The singer laments his girl's sadness/need to do smack: "She Asked/She Asked/She Asked Me For Dope" but ultimately gives in and cops her a bag.Then, later, we get the brilliant _"I Know/I Know/I Know You're So Tired_" repeated over and over while a searing, wicked guitar lead soars over the top. TOTAL drug rock, possibly the best example of wasted 1970's reality you'll hear. If you take a lot, it'll kill you....." Wasted Forever. Ferociously Stoned.
Ellison is the 3rd heaviest Canadian rarity in any genre, surpassed only by Bent Wind and the first Christmas. In any event, it's a thrill to have it in the catalog, as it's one of those albums where you need an original copy to grasp the full trip. The old vinyl repros of Ellison don't capture the underground stoner feel of the original, where the front cover has an attractive matt, off-black texture that looks great with the band logo and photo. And the music cuts through better too, with a basement heavy rock feel similar to the top US private pressings from the era -- like Bent Wind, the rhythm guitar sound really kills.Unchanged World
