EYES OF BLUE “In the Fields Of Ardath” TOP! 1969 UK Prog Psych lp M-
1969/USA/Mercury Records SR61220….. here’s a nice original pressing of this rare Psych lp. The cover is in solid condition with heavy top seam wear, some paper gone, taped with clear tape at the opening end, the bottom seam show light wear/cracking and taper at the opening. I think this sort of tape is easily removed with a bit of patience, that's up to the buyer, corner bumps/wear, light shelf/ring wear, otherwise the cover is nice and the spine is perfectly legible, no delete! The vinyl is in strong Excellent condition. The record has some minor light storage stains/blemishes and a handful of super light inaudible hairlines. The record plays clean with light occasional noise mainly between tracks. Clean fidelity. Clean labels have no spindle marks. A nice copy of this rare lp! “In the Fields Of Ardath” was released in November and is generally regarded as the more successful and 'progressive' of the two albums released under the Eyes Of Blue name. Quincy Jones supplied the sleevenotes this time, and commented; "All the ethnic qualities which I had recalled about the people of Wales were manifest in that tape. There was a native sensuality in their playing. Eyes Of Blue was musically curious." The record has also been described as having "Pop, R&B jazz, classical, psychedelic and Eastern influences." A fair sprinkling one must admit."
GRADING
MINT: I consider New Unplayed or Sealed items only.
M- or Mint Minus, very clean with clean visual appearance and sound, there may be a couple of light inaudible hairline scuffs or such and will be mentioned in the listing, a Mint- record looks and plays very clean. Same for the cover. Very clean with no delete or other issues.
EXCELLENT: still very collectable for most, visually and sonicly clean. A handful of light inaudible scuffs, or hairlines. Cover will be clean with little wear, or delete. No splits.
VG++ still a very nice copy with minimal wear, the vinyl will retain it's original gloss and can have some minor scuffs/scratches that don't affect play very much. Cover will have slight shelf wear, and or delete, minor split.
VG+ the vinyl will still retain much original gloss with a bit more scuffs and/or scratches I may list a very rare or desirable item with a lower grade, I will try to list all defects.
