On the rare ORIGINAL UK 45 on DERAM RECORDS DM 114 from Vintage 1967
Here's the second great single from this collectible band who's albums are also excellent - and the earlier original singles are revered as Mod classics!
The 'A' side is a lovely swinging song with superbly arranged and delivered harmony back-up.
How was this one not a hit?? It's got everything for the period - a tight arrangement, strong lyrically, confident up-front soulful vocal delivery, tough beat, attention grabbing snappy instrumentation that neither pulls punches or eclipses the voice.... it's the BUSINESS!
The 'b' side of this gem is another good Mod blue-eyed (hence their band-name?) soul track, and could easily have made another worthy 'A' side if the other side were not so obviously good. The vocals are enough to rival Steve Marriott or Chris Farlowe here too, so it's a wonder how this band's releases all flopped completely sales-wise.
Again, as with their debut that came out only a couple of months earlier, a gem that went undiscovered - until we collectors made it their business to seek out the obscure diamonds
from the finest ever period in British music, on record.
Vinyl condition is NM, playing through WONDERFULLY, with NO scuff, NO marks.
Lables are NM-, clean with just a light sign of sticker-removal shadow.
