Description

Earliest Plum VICS  Decca Press Szeryng Munch Tchaïkovsky Tartini Violin Plum & silver spot labels with best 1G1G stampers. This means that the finest of the Decca mastering engineers, Ted Burkett, made the first Uk issue of this late in the 60's when the newer Neumann cutting lathe was installed, which allowed the transfer of higher frequencies than the previous cutter, so we have a higher percentage of what was on the mastertape, transferred by someone who really knew their stuff. It is unlikely that a better pressing than this exists. The violin tone and orchestral balance are first rate, everything is where it should be. I have this in my own collection, or you would not be seeing this listed!. I have played this throughout for a grading check and it is fully near mint in playback.
