Scarce and Unusual 45rpm Album of "Personality Specials" - on Jolly Roger labels - Jolly Roger 4516 4 Records - 8 sides by Bing Crosby - Mae West - Ethel Waters - Al Jolson
The first - and probably the only time - these titles ever appeared on 45rpm... or ever will. Is your juke-box missing titles by Mae West or Ethel Waters, or Bing's anthem of the Great Depression?
Bing Crosby sings "Brother Can You Spare A Dime" and "The Day You Came Along" Ethel Waters sings "Harlem On My Mind" and "Heat Wave" Mae West sings "I'm No Angel" and "I Found A New Way To Go To Town" Al Jolson sings "There's A Rainbow Round My Shoulder" and "Little Pal"
These 45rpm records are from early 1930's Brunswick and Royal Blue Columbia issues (Jolson from late 1920's Brunswick) These early "pirated" recordings (on "Jolly Roger" label, get it?) were an early example of "bootlegged" records. The records are at least E+ ... and I'm not sure if they were ever played (I've had this for decades, and never played them) The album itself is in Excellent condition, with some fading and minor abrasions from shelf life.
