Description
A Rare Early 1947 10" 78 RPM Recording by Miss Kitty Wells With Band on the KWKH Label Shreveport, La. Songs are "If The Truth Were Known" and " It Drives Me Crazy Sometimes". The Record is in very good condition with very minor wear. The labels are on loosely around the edges. Also written on the label is the name " Hubert Long - KWKH Shreveport". Research in "Gale Encyclopedia of Popular Culture" by Anna Graves reports: "In 1947 Kitty Wells and her husband, Johnnie Wright joined a new hillbilly program, Louisiana Hayride, on Shreveport's KWKH Radio Station. By this time, Kitty Wells was a permanent part of their show, the girl singer who performed gospel and sentimental folk songs." Earliest recordings, later in the 1950's were on Decca and RCA labels. This recording is a truly Rare, Earliest for Kitty Wells. Buyer will include shipping to be determined.
