Description
This auction is for the triple LP version ("Special Low Quantity Version", tee hee) of the classic Earth 2 album, released on Autofact for the Earth European tour with K.K. Null a few years ago. This record was pressed in a limited quantity of 330 copies and is long since sold out. While not the first Earth record, 2 which was originally released on Sub Pop has become their most popular album and the one that basically kick started the whole modern guitar drone sound that bands like Boris, Sunn, Growing, and Matthew Bower's endless projects (Skullflower, Total, Sunroof, Hototogisu) have made popular recently. Personally I think Phase 3 is Earth's best release, but this is a great one as well. Three lengthy tracks of unrelenting guitar monotony, this is a great record to clear your head after a tough day at work or a tough acid trip. This triple LP version plays at 45 RPM so it offers far superior sound quality than the original, equally scarce Sub Pop vinyl pressing. Earth is probably best known for Dylan's connection with Nirvana and the fact that Kurt Cobain made a guest appearance on an early track, and the fact that Joe Preston was an original Earth member before splitting (not entirely amicably) for the Melvins. This album is just Dylan on guitar and Dave Harwell on bass. This record is brand new and the wrap around sticker on the cover is STILL SEALED. The sleeve itself has some creasing in the bottom left corner, which is typical for this record. All spines are intact which is rather unusual and everything else is MINT. See picture below.
