Description
This is an auction of a rare Earth Opera - The Great American Eagle Tragedy - Elektra EKS-74038 - CLASSIC PSYCH HIPPIE SUPER RARE ACETATE Test Pressing from 1968 - with acetate audiophile quality stereo sound. Produced by A&R 112 West 48th Street, New York 36 New York - dated 12-24-68. Earth Opera - the great Boston area 60's band included Peter Rowan and David Grisman and Billi Mundi (ex-Mothers of Invention) and on this album as a guest John Cale of the Velvet Undergound on viola. They produced very intelligent songs with a variety of styles and influences - and the epic searing anti-war title song - "American Eagle Tragedy".
Record is visually graded Mint- to VG++ but PLAY grades VG+ to VG++ with some crackles (common for very old acetates), has a white scuff on the side 2 outer edge which does not affect play other than produce a few ticks, and typed labels are beautiful. Sound is very good as acetates often are. NO cover (will be carefully packed with mucho cardboard).
