Description

An original 1st press of E.O.E. the self-titled classic from '71 on UK Harvest. Matrix A4/B4 - 1st cut. Stampers 1O/1M - from amongst the 1st few thousand copies ever pressed. 'Gramophone' is present in the perimeter text and the EMI logo is present - correct for 1st issue. The labels do not exhibit publishing credits or producer credits. Sweet! The heavy-set vinyl comes housed in a textured gatefold cover. We also have the original Harvest inner sleeve. So, 100% genuine and 100% complete.
Vinyl (Ex) In excellent condition and has only seen light use. Under close inspection I can only spot a couple of very superficial marks per side - nothing remotely troublesome. Both sides exhibit full lustre and clearly have only seen careful light use - which is extremely important on this title. A thorough testing from beginning to end reveals an EXCELLENT level of playback. Given the style of music on offer here - only a REALLY clean and looked after copy is going to cut the mustard. The audio is clinical and revealing - a beautifully clean background. You will be able take in all the low key nuances without getting distracted by background. I would imagine that this is about the maximum level achievable on this title. To go better you'd have to find one in the original packet. Excellent throughout and the fact it is a copy so close on to those original masters is just taking it up another notch. A couple of crackles in a couple of spots per side. And one solitary tick midway on side 2. An epic performer. Highly recommended.
Cover (Vg+) As would be common on this title - there's a touch of low level ageing. Given the aesthetic it actually fits in quite well and looks totally natural. No signs of surface wear as you can find on these soft card covers. The interior look smart with just lightest hint of ageing. A bit of light edge wear - but fairly minor really. Nice firm opening panel. A bit of wear here and there on the spine - but perfectly acceptable. Overall the cover retains excellent rigidity.
Inner (Vg) Aged. Bag present. Tape residue. No splits.
