Pressed on 180g vinyl and initial copies available on CLEAR vinyl, this self titled 5th Bunnymen album, was recorded in Germany, Belguim, Liverpool and London. As tensions rose between memebers, drummer Pete de Freitas returned to the fold after leaving the band to spend time in the USA. So now back to a more stable line-up and after an aborted attempt to record the album in Germany at Conny Planks studio the material for the album saw a change of direction with keyboards now replacing the strings of its predecessors.
Produced by Laurie Latham the songs took far longer than anticipated to record and the resulting album recieved a mixed response in the media, but they still retained the hook heavy songs so familiar in the Bunnymen sound, but its the guitars on tracks such as 'Lost And Found' which were always more representative of the album.
