Description

DESCRIPTION & CONDITION I'm not going to lie here, this is not a terribly rare 45 despite it being an Audition record. There are, and have been, many copies of this listed on eBay over the years. However, I've yet to see many that are in as beautiful a condition as this one. I've been lucky enough to pick up 2 absolute beauties over the years and so it's time for someone else to own such a lovely copy. Released in the US in Nov. 1961 it didn't sell at all. I've probably seen more Audition copies of this for sale over the years than the actual release! But this is a beauty and plays with no noise at all. You also get a repro Liberty 45 cover as well.
A major benefit here is I have cleaned this 45 on a Moth Vacuum record cleaner and therefore all the years of dirt have been cleaned away.
The 45 has a polythene cover inside the sleeve to protect the record from paper scuffs. It also has a polythene cover to protect the sleeve!
POSTAGE DETAILS I will stick to the postage details as described via eBay as it's mandatory to select one in order to get the record listed - so it's listed as 2nd class postage and described as a small package. However... If a record sells for a decent price, I will send it out first class, registered, and up to the value you paid for it. I will pay the extra postage, I hope that's fair. So you'll only pay what's listed as the price. We both have to know it's been sent out with the utmost protection so we get compensated (in a fair and just world) should anything go wrong...

GENERAL INFO I've been collecting 1950's Rock 'n' Roll/Rockabilly and related records since I was a teenager in the 1980's. As all collectors will know, there's times when you end up with multiple copies of the same record and you never quite understand how that happened! So I've decided to sell off these duplicates and also some of my US records that I've acquired over the years as my passion is really UK 45's/EP's/LP's and anything by Eddie Cochran.
I much prefer to buy and therefore my eBay account is important to me. I'm not a record dealer and so these auctions will stop at some point in the near future as I will run out of records to sell!! I've only recently decided to sell on eBay and have only gone through a small part of my collection and already found loads of records that are surplice to my requirements, so please feel free to save me in your favourite sellers because if you're into Rock 'n' Roll/Rockabilly, I'm sure I'll be listing something of interest in the near future.
I'm quite agreeable to replying to messages if time allows but I travel a great deal and sometimes can't reply straight away. Please bare with me. I will try and be as fair as possible with my descriptions and you may find that some of these records play better than described. I certainly hope that's the case. I will definitely listen to all 45s and EPs that get listed and MOST LPs. I don't want anything leaving here that skips or sticks without being described with these problems. But if that is to happen, contact me immediately and I'll arrange return postage at my cost and a full refund, if need be. I'd suggest keeping the cardboard mailer the record came with for this purpose, as I've found that covering the mailer with white paper to hide previous address and postage details (stamps, etc) is a handy way of saving a few bob if records need to be returned. I will only post within the UK for the time being.
PAYMENT DETAILS UK BIDDERS ONLY. PAYPAL ONLY PLEASE - NO OTHER FORMS OF PAYMENT ACCEPTED, SORRY! I will endeavour to post within 2 days of receiving money but as I travel a great deal there may be times this is impossible for me. If that happens, I will contact you but I expect that to be a rare occurrence!
My grading: MINT - UNPLAYED. EXCELLENT - LIGHT PLAY, LOW SURFACE NOISE IF ANY. VERY GOOD - OBVIOUSLY WELL PLAYED BUT STILL A LOVELY COPY, WILL HAVE A SMALL AMOUNT OF SURFACE NOISE IN PLACES AND MAYBE A TOUCH OF DISTORTION AT CERTAIN POINTS IN THE PLAYBACK. GOOD - PROBABLY STILL WORTH HAVING BUT A VERY WELL-PLAYED RECORD THAT PLAYS THROUGH WITH LOTS OF SURFACE NOISE BUT WITH NO SKIPS/STICKS. POOR - ONLY OF WORTH TO A COLLECTOR BECAUSE OF IT'S RARITY BUT WILL PLAY WITH A TREMENDOUS AMOUNT OF SURFACE NOISE AND MAY WELL SKIP/STICK. If I feel a record deserves a + sign next to it's grading, consider that a slightly better player than the grading describes.
