Description

For sale is this wonderful and very scarce vinyl LP of EDDIE GALE - BLACK RHYTHM HAPPENING on Blue Note Records 1969 in really immaculate condition. This copy is the 1969 UK 1st Stereo Pressing. The disc was pressed in the UK using the original Van Gelder lacquers (I believe this allowed Blue Note to avoid having to pay prohibitively high import duties) and has "manufactured in England" on the labels. It was issued in the original US thick card sleeve with an over-pasted "distributed by Liberty Records Ltd. 37-41 Mortimer St. London W1" label on the reverse. The weight of the disc is 144g. The catalogue number is the same as the US version - BST/84320. The matrices are:
Side One - BNST.84320.A     VAN GELDER      Side Two - BNST.84320.B     VAN GELDER      
Condition*:
The sleeve is Excellent (EX). The surfaces, though unlaminated, are clean with few signs of handling and largely unrubbed. The colours are unfaded. There is very light wear to the corners, spine and edges - slightly more to the opening edge. Overall a really good sleeve.
The disc is conservatively graded Excellent (EX). The surfaces are dark and lustrous with few signs that it has been played. In bright sunlight there are a few very light marks but nothing that intrudes into the audio. The labels are near perfect. The disc has been played through from start to finish and plays flawlessly. Overall a really superlative copy of this rare Blue note record.

In other words: Good (G), Very Good (VG), Very Good+ (VG+), Excellent (EX) and Near Mint (NM). Anything better than that would be Mint and would be listed as new. Anything worse than Good I probably wouldn't be selling.
