5" "Edison Concert" cylinder record in Edison Concert box w/ REPRODUCTION Bacigalupi "sticker" on lid

Announced as "Tenting Tonight... - Edison Quartette"

Research by a friend revealed that this is an early Edison Concert cylinder B-313 (Tenting Tonight by the Edison Quartette) which was ONLY issued as a concert cylinder. This title by the Edison Male Quartette was never issued as a standard sized wax 2 minute cylinder.

Since I don't own a phono capable of playing this record the same friend (who has a large collection of 5" and other early cylinders) played the record - he reports: "I would call it a VG+. It plays all the way through very nicely. Nice announcement. Most sections are very pleasing without distortion and very good volume. A few areas have a little blasting. Not bad. Has scattered small mold areas that really do not affect the reproduction."

My friend also tried steaming off the fake label but only part of it lifted off revealing what he describes as an excellent original label underneath. Not being the owner he didn't want to go further but perhaps the final owner would continue - ?



Shipping: Due to the somewhat fragile nature of these 5" records, I strongly suggest Priority mail - no sense in having this in the hands of the P.O. any longer than necessary - plus it would generally be with lighter packages - Media Mail can have some awfully heavy boxes (I know-I mail a lot of 78's that way!!). As such plan on $15 - I'll make pay any additional. Insurance is additional and OPTIONAL, at YOUR risk.

I've sold on ebay for almost 3 years and I've resisted until now. But I recently lost my source of free packing material so economics force a slight change. I need to charge a $1 "packing fee" above and beyond the actual USPS charges (included in the above quotes).
You're welcome to combine "wins" or even leave them "on hold" for a few weeks to see what else I offer. If your combined "wins" total $15 or more, there will be no "packing fee" added.
