Description

Two Edison Diamond Disc Records by the Golden Gate Orchestra in good condition. Edison 51633 is a very interesting one as the recordings on it belong to the soundtrack of the 1925 movie "The Freshmen" with Harold Lloyd. Side A is the song "Freshie" by the orchestra that was also known as the California Ramblers. They were actually from Ohio and worked mostly in New York. The vocal on the track is by Arthur Hall. You can find a clip from the movie that features this song on YouTube. It's worth it!
The other side is "The Co-Ed" performed by Irwin Abrams. The second disc (Edison 52014, 1927) contains the tracks "Yes She Do" and "Hallelujah". I have no way of playing these records but both look to be in great shape. Very light surface marks. The should be played with an Edison diamond needle at 80 (78) rpm.
