Edison Blue Amberol Cylinder #5652
The Big Rock Candy Mountain by Vernon Dalhart and Co.
Here's one of the very late Blue Amberol cylinders that were issued in limited quantities. This particular title was recorded on Dec. 12, 1928 and released in February 1929. It was electrically transfered (not dubbed) from electrical disc mx. 18938, so it can be considered a true electrically recorded cylinder. The Diamond Disc catalog number is 52472-L. This copy is in excellent condition - no defects at all except for the slightest bit of surface rubbing, which does not sound. Intact plaster, beautiful white lettering on the rim, original box and lid also in excellent condition - it doesn't get much better than this. I'll grade the cylinder and box a 9 on a scale of 10.
