Up for bid is the 4 minute Edison Royal Purple Amberol cylinder record # 29040 "O Holy Night",  sung by Frieda Hempel & the Old Home Singers with orchestra. Released in 1920, this Christmas, is in very good condition. Plays well and sounds good. Record comes in a quality reproduction Purple Amberol box, with repro lid label, but no lid

Frieda Hempel was a celebrated German soprano singer from Leipzig who was acclaimed in both Europe and the United States. Around the end of the 'teens', she made a number of recordings on Edison's new 'Royal Purple' cylinders.
