This is the best copy I have ever encountered of this recording. Virtually no surface noise, high groove modulation, and the performances are second to none. The Original Memphis Five have a bluesy style which is entirely theirs, and this disc proves it. It isn't squawky and loud like jazz in the 'teens. It is refined. A transitional style before the late 20's came and burned down the house. I grade this enthusiastically "E+" using the VJM Record Grading system. I audition all records on a modern turntable with a lightweight sapphire stylus. RECORDS WILL BE PACKED PROPERLY between several sheets of cardboard, surrounded by packing peanuts, in a sturdy box.
