Description
In 2016 I developed new processes to make disc records. Production technologies and physical properties of the early materials were examined and recreated using modern materials. Diamond Disc recreations will last for several hundred plays and work with Standard, Dance and Edisonic reproducers.
This auction is for a single-sided reproduction copy of Diamond Disc 52559, "Kansas City Kitty" by Billy Murray. It's difficult to think of a Diamond Disc which is more sought after than this one. It's a fun song, the orchestra is excellent and we all love Billy Murray (even in 1929). The original copy of this disc is in mint condition and is in the library of the University of California, Santa Barbara.
The grooved area of the disc will be exactly as shown and is identical to the original, the area around the label is embossed with credit to UCSB. The back is unfinished and may show tooling marks as all Diamond Disc reproductions are milled to 1/4" thick +/- 0.015". The backs are engraved with the year and my name.
Shipping via media mail with tracking is included for the continental USA. International shipping is at cost, while USPS is the least expensive method it does not include tracking nor insurance. If an international buyer chooses USPS shipping then they assume all responsibility. Please see the USPS website to calculate cost. UPS or Fedex are also shipped at cost and generally start at $100.
