Description
This is one of two Diamond Disc records made by Edison exclusively for his close friend, Henry Ford. These recordings were never sold to the public.
About 12 years ago the Henry Ford Museum de-accessioned some of these still brand-new, untouched records, all still in their original sleeves in perfect condition.
This record has two polkas: "Heel and Toe Polka" by an unnamed string quartet, and "Seaside Polka (Ta-Ra-Ra-Boom-De-Aye)" also by a string quartet. The label is clearly marked "Special record for Mr. Henry Ford."
It is still in pristine, as-made condition. A singularly rare and unusual treasure for any phonograph collector. IMPORTANT NOTE: this can only be played on a Diamond Disc phonograph. Do not play with a needle!
