Description
This lot contains eight 10-inch 78 RPM records, all on the Victor or Victrola Red Seal "batwing" label, all instrumental, and all in the classical genre. The first two are double-sided, the third one is single-sided with a textured back, and the others are all single-sided with blank backs. The first three, therefore, get two pictures each, and the other five only one picture each. In the order shown in the pictures, they are:
Victrola No. 1115 -- "Aloha Oe (Farewell to Thee)" and "From the Land of the Sky Blue Water" by Fritz Kreisler.
Victrola No. 825 -- "Turkish March" and "Sparks (Etincelles)" by Olga Samaroff.
Victrola No. 66097 -- "Zapateado (Spanish Dance)" by Jascha Heifetz.
Victrola No. 64947 -- "On Miami Shore" by Fritz Kreisler.
Victrola No. 64824 -- "Nobody Knows De Trouble I've Seen" by Fritz Kreisler.
Victor No. 64131 -- "Hungarian Dance in G Minor" by Fritz Kreisler.
Victrola No. 64823 -- "Guitarre" by Jascha Heifetz.
Victrola No. 66016 -- "Prelude in C Sharp Minor" by Sergei Rachmaninoff.
The records all look to be in about VG+ or better condition, still beautifully shiny, and with very little surface wear of any great significance. I played them all on my Audio-Technica turntable, and there were no skips or jumps, and mostly just typical light background noise, as one would expect on recordings of this age, with some occasional pops or clicks or light ticking. Because of variations in tracking ability, filtering technology and needle weights, I can offer no guarantees as to how well they will play on your equipment. Please check the pictures for any label damage or stickers or inscriptions.
